On this website, I offer you a few services dealing with languages, which you can just anytime make use of. I prefer to work in the areas linguistics, classical and modern philology, biology, molecular biology, pedagogy, psychology, and genealogy.
Every day, I happen to read quite a lot of different texts in German, English, and other languages that my fellow students, friends and relatives ask me to proofread. Usually, I am a person to do that free of charge. If you want to avail yourself of this auspicious service, just don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
Do you want to save money when having your German, English, or French text translated into one of the other two? I work as a non-professional, but favourably priced translator. Translations with less 150 words are usually for free. The rest can be found out here.
Are you in search of the etymology of an English or French word or have you been wondering for quite a while what the Arabic word سكر has to do with the English cognate sugar? Is this similarity just a coincidence? Ask me whenever you're wondering about such peculiarities in your own or in another language.
Are you sometimes confronted with the problem to read older scripts? When researching your ancestors and family lineages, have you gotten stuck on the Latin parish register writing? Or did you see an interesting billboard writing on vacation abroad, but you did not know which language it was or what it was supposed to mean? I also want to help all those who are in desperate search of the language family, explanation, or reading of a language unknown to them. For instance, you have heard about the languages Sidama and Temotu. Where would you guess are they spoken? And how many people are native speakers of them? I will try to answer questions like this, if you send me your requests.
